Quality recycled clothes at great prices will be arriving in Tahmoor next week to provide an eco-friendly option to fast fashion. Anglicare will open its latest shop Monday, 13 August at 137 Remembrance Drive, Tahmoor.
The store will offer a different retail experience to the community that offers more than the sale of quality, second hand clothes. Customers can also enjoy a cuppa, a kid’s play zone that offers family friendly shopping and a community pantry that provides affordable food for $10.
Anglicare Sydney has been running opportunity shops for nearly 60 years. However, over the years store managers and volunteers have discovered, the sale of clothing is only a small part of what an Anglicare store provides.
“The aim of the store is to care for people in the Tahmoor community who may need support,” says Stephen Kuo, Anglicare Sydney’s Head of Retail.
“Yes, we’re here to provide affordable clothes. However, we would like the shop to be a welcoming space, where people’s needs are met, and where they can make links to the wider community.
“We are here to assist families, and those who may be socially isolated, to build relationships. We want our customers to leave our store, not only with affordable food and clothing, but also feeling like they are emotionally and spiritually cared for.
“Ultimately, we hope people see God’s love through our practical care.”
Shop opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9am – 4:45pm and Saturday, 9am – 2:45pm.
